March for Peace in Pakistan
Pakistan | OM International

“Jesus is the Creator of Peace” could be read on the banner held up by marchers. It was Palm Sunday.
A number of churches had banded together with OM to celebrate, by re-enacting Jesus’ entry in Jerusalem as the Prince of Peace. Marchers moved along the road, carrying banners, and sharing their message of peace with the nation. Their chosen route included a popular way through the town, passing past the High Court, the Provincial Parliament, the Chief Minister’s house, and the Governor’s dwelling.
National news agencies reported the march throughout Pakistan, confirming it had official permission to take place, and was supported by both the city and provincial governments.
Passers-by heard the story of Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem by donkey, and the gift of peace that He still brings to people, as they listened through loudspeakers.
We distributed ‘God’s Story’ CD in Urdu, as well as literature, to people who gladly accepted our gifts. In this way, we were able to express our unity in desiring peace for Pakistan, and our belief in Jesus as the author of peace.
