July-August Pakistan News of Emerging Missions
Pakistan | OM International

In Pakistan, Brother N* has been deciding to consolidate existing efforts at establishing studies in three specific towns, and to strengthen current groups in two other towns, rather than starting anything else at this time. We need new workers to help start new groups, and for a Godly couple to join Brother N*, who would share his perspective.
The men’s summer camp took place from 11-24th June: 62 men from all four provinces participating! After a week long training, they went to 13 different cities across Pakistan to share the good news of Jesus. In the feed back conference, they shared their experiences:
“We had to wait at a railway station for two hours at midnight. There were 30 of us, as six teams left the training centre together. On the way to the station, we were thinking how boring it would be to just sit there for ages. However, as we sat, someone picked up his guitar and started to play it. Our eyes brightened, we sat in a circle and started worshipping in the open air. This attracted many passengers also waiting, to whom we gave out literature. This was my first such experience ever; it became my inspiration for the whole week.”
The women’s camp takes place from 7-20th July. Women will go on outreach to 13 different cities after a time of teaching. Preparations are well under way.
The staff annual retreat takes place from 27-31st July; we hope that this would be a real time of refreshment and challenge.
As usual every Friday evening we go to one area for study class. It is wonderful to see how we are being used to teach, using the Bible, and for the way God is working amongst them through healing. All belong to church, but have neither pastor nor priest to preach and teach them, so we can really see God’s timing at work. We have a responsibility to teach wisely, so that the people learn to love God more and more.
Last Friday one sister came with her daughter; both were sick, but one had had a fever for a long time. We prayed for God to touch her and her daughter, who had a breast tumour. Both are now healed; we know that when we pray for healing, only God can do this as and how He chooses.
Every Tuesday and Thursday we try to reach people through films and literature. On our prayer walk and distribution day, 36 people joined us and really enjoyed the experience, saying: “Thank you, for the opportunity to share in this way”. We only asked people to consider whether they’d like to join us! In total, we reached more than 600 people. Think of us on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as we are out and about in the community.
