Empowering locals to meet community needs
Nepal | OM International
Community Health Evangelism (CHE), a partner organisation of OM Nepal, gave a five-day training in March to 18 members of the team’s national staff and four others. Heavily discussion-based, the teaching focused on preparing the attendees to effectively meet both the physical and spiritual needs of people they encounter in their ministries, as well as when they return home after their commitment with OM.
In a world where meeting others’ needs sometimes seems impossible, CHE has developed a strategy for building local involvement in their work projects, empowering locals to take ownership of the projects. In this way, the local community is enabled to bring change to their own lives and homes.
One team member shared that he never knew how much he could help his own village. Now he realises that he too can bring positive change to his home, even if it just starts small. Please pray that the team members who attended would be able to process the training and look for ways to implement what they have learnt.
