Mercy Teams International celebrates 10 years
Singapore | OM International
Mercy Teams International (MTI)* celebrated 10 years of ministry on Saturday, 21 April. As they reflected on God’s faithfulness towards MTI over the past 10 years, Dave and Dawn Greenfield, the founders and current leaders of MTI, welcomed over 400 donors and friends at the Fullerton Hotel in Singapore.
With a focus on medical health, educational support, community transformation and authentic discipleship, MTI seeks to be “salt and light amongst the poor” in South East Asia. National and international workers from MTI projects in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand were present at the event, and encouraging stories were shared.
“Organisations like MTI are not just responding to the poor and destitute,” said guest speaker, Dr. Joseph d’Souza from GS/OM India, an affiliate partner with OM International, “but they are also responding to Jesus, who shares in their pain and suffering. Jesus is not disconnected from the suffering of this world. He is right there in the midst of the pain, crying out for help, for deliverance, for salvation, for somebody to do something about that suffering!”
Praise God for His faithfulness to the MTI team over the past 10 years. As they look to the future, may God continue to provide the means to impact the poor in South East Asia through practical help and God's transforming love.
*Mercy Teams International is a Singapore-registered entity and an international relief and development organisation working in partnership with OM.
