Year of prayer for Bosnia

Bosnia & Hercegovina | OM International

2008 has been declared a year of prayer for Bosnia Hercegovina.  After feeling that the Lord called their team to a concentrated prayer effort, OM Bosnia leader Annelea Blignault shared this with the Pentecostal church leadership.  They felt the same and it was decided that the Pentecostal church together with OM will coordinate a year of prayer for the country.

"What is exciting about this is that though the idea came from OM it was totally taken up by the nationals who see a desperate need for God to intervene in their churches, in the country and in each of our own lives," Annelea writes.  "We have committed ourselves to pray through this year and also to invite the universal church to pray with us and hold up our arms as we intercede for our country and its peoples.

"People can find information on our website : www.pray4bosnia.co.cc where we have a calendar with daily general prayer requests.  There is also a monthly focus with prayer requests that people can use in small groups to pray for the country.  During the year we will have three prayer conferences, one in January, 25-27 in Mostar, one in June, 20-22 in Sarajevo and the final one in December 5-7 in Tuzla.  These conferences are aimed at encouraging national believers in bringing them together to worship and pray, experiencing the fact that they are part of a much bigger body than the often very small churches that they come from and also an event for foreigners to come and worship and pray with us."
