Teens engage the world at TeenStreet

Malaysia | OM International

TeenStreet 08 Malaysia EngageTeens got “In Gear and Engaged with God and the World” at TeenStreet Malaysia from December 9 – 13 in Kuala Lumpur. Three hundred and fifty eight people converged from all over the world. Participants were challenged to engage the world as Christ did, to count the cost, make good choices and be Christ to the world. "Mat Bible," a.k.a. Bible Man, challenged teens to memorize the book of Philippians. Participants also raised over 22,000 Ringgits (about 6,175 USD) for Mercy Teams International Projects and the funds will go to support the relief work for Cyclone Nargis.

TNT Journey (Teens Need Teens), an interactive prayer journey while fasting, gave the opportunity to participants to learn about natural disasters, hunger, water resources, human trafficking, poverty, HIV/AIDS, and relief and development. Participants also enjoyed the drama, art, singing, skin care, evangelism and dance workshops. Many also played football, rugby, basketball, swimming, ultimate Frisbee and captain ball.

One participant, Samuel from Malaysia, commented about his time at TeenStreet: "What I left with was a desire to better equip myself with every weapon I could muster, so that I will be able to be a great influence on others. You know that verse about being the salt and light to the world? Well, you want to be salt? First you have to be salty."

Praise God for lives changed at TeenStreet Malaysia. Please pray that the participants will continue to be encouraged and strengthened as they go back to their homes and schools.
