Celebrating 15 Years!
Albania | OM International
It was nearly time for the service to start and the church was quickly filling up. Then, the doors came off and more chairs were squeezed into to the already full chapel and more were placed in the foyer.
Albanians and foreigners came from around the world to celebrate 15 years of the church in Lushnje. The testimonies of believers and previous missionaries demonstrated how God has been working over the years.
After visiting the city each week for some time, a team of OM missionaries moved to Lushnje in 1993. Through the distribution of the Gospel of John and bible studies, a small group of believers was formed.
Fourteen people were baptised in March 1994 and this is considered to be the beginning of the church. The numbers quickly continued to grow through Sunday services, prayer meetings and kids clubs.
In partnership with OM the church began the Emmanuel Centre for street kids as well as ministry in some nearby villages.
Today all these ministries are continuing along with housegroups, girls’ meetings and women’s meetings.
