Escape from the streets

She said she was 20 years old, but she looked 15. She was mentally slow and seemed shy. Coleen* was a sex worker standing on the streets of downtown Pretoria.

Before the OM training team went on the inner city outreach, Jonathan (Germany) felt God touching his heart for the "ladies of the night." On the first night, Jonathan and his group met Coleen. While the girls on the team were praying for her, Jonathan started to weep and felt led to write her a letter and pray daily for her.

On one of the last evenings, Jonathan's group found Coleen again and discovered that she read Jonathan's letter every day. She wanted to return to her family in Cape Town, so the team planned to put her on a bus the next morning. This concerned the team because some pimps won't let the women leave.

However, in the morning when Jonathan and his team arrived to pick up Coleen, the pimps asked where she was going, but no one stopped her. It was a miracle that she could leave so easily! She got on the bus to Cape Town, and later her father sent a message to Jonathan to thank the OMers for sending her home.

The training team also bought bus tickets for two other sex workers so they could go home and get off the streets. Please pray for other women who wanted to leave but weren't able to escape this business.
