DOES THE SMOKE WARN OF ANOTHER TYPE OF FIRE?

Malaysia | OM International

It will take more than thick haze to blur the vision for mission in this country. Yet the nagging uncertainty lurks that smog will stifle attendance at two OM mission camps to be held here in November. Courtesy of massive forest fires in neighbouring Indonesia, a noxious thick haze shrouded Malaysian skies for nearly two months, setting off a nationwide alert to clear the atmosphere. Coupled with the sudden economic plunge, Malaysia seems to be heading towards a spiritual shaking. The motivational OM camps, however, have recorded a steady increase in attendance over the past four years, a positive sign for the Christian community. And this year OM hopes to make inroads into the brethren community, targeting the youth. Pray for the camp speaker (Associate International Coordinator Peter Maiden) who will be traveling from England with his wife, Win. Pray also for the smooth running of the camp and of course, good weather.
