Spiritual hunger in Cappadocia

Turkey | OM International

A few weeks ago I sat with a local brother in a cafe in Cappadocia sharing the Good News with three men. At the next table a newspaper kept moving up and down a few centimetres. The reader (?) was photographing us. Just as the three men left the cafe a small group of civil police sat down beside us. The photographer continued to film us. I've no doubt our faces have appeared on a web-site or in a local newspaper. However, we were relieved that their opening line was,

"What you are doing is legal!"

The local brother and I left the cafe and went on to another city. Over two days we met face-to-face with 15 inquirers. One man had a New Testament but had never seen a Bible. It is not for sale in his city. He volunteered the cash price of the Bible to the local brother and trusted him to mail him one. I'm expecting such an inquirer to come to know the LORD.

Pray for the follow up of inquirers.

Pray for church planting movements to spread through Turkey.

Turkey :: Each year on 23 April thousands of people flock to St. George’s Orthodox Church on Buyukada, or Big Island, off the coast of Istanbul. Pilgrims trail cotton behind them as they climb, in hopes that if their thread reaches the top unbroken God will hear their prayers.
