Ten Minutes Make a Big Difference

OM International

Charlie was nervously checking his watch. It was Friday, 5 o’clock and the OM team was all set to show the ‘Magdalene’ DVD in the village church. Although many invitations had been handed out on the streets, many seats were still empty.

“Let’s wait 10 more minutes,” Charlie decided, as the team prayed together. Two days previously, 30 people had attended this filming of how Jesus healed and restored Mary Magdalene, but the team had prayed many more would come.

And then the people came! In those extra ten minutes, 80 people arrived, squeezing into the little building, leaving standing room only. To show the film, the window blind had to be drawn shut, and it thus became very hot - the unmistakeable smell of sweating people was all around! But the villagers stayed till the end, and the OM team are in the process of following up contacts they made that day.

“It was the grace of God at work,” says Charlie. “This village has a strongly Muslim identity and people are usually very hesitant to enter the church building. We would love to start Bible studies with the people who saw the film. Please pray that God would open their hearts!”
