Giving up a holiday

Regina could have spent her holidays on a beach in Europe, but instead she worked hard and saved her money for the chance to spend her free time in a township in South Africa. Her team was sent to Kwamhlanga to reach out to children and youth. They began by organizing kids games with a biblical message. The children were having fun and listening to the message, but some cynical youth also gathered to watch the activities.

In the beginning the young people looked down on the team, but soon Regina noticed a change in their behavior. Little by little they began helping the team to look after the smallest children and even to referee games. On the last day of ministry, to Regina’s delight, these same people asked the team to do a drama for them. She explains, “We felt God was with us. And it was gratifying to see our work in this village…already bearing fruit.”
