Resuming work in children's homes

OM International

English/Español

They were ready for a new season. After two months of summer holidays, team members of OM Chile looked forward to resuming their programmes in two children’s homes in Santiago. Then the terrible earthquake hit the country on 27 February.

“This made a big impact on the children,” says OMer Lise Tromop. “Their homes were quite damaged. We were able to play with them, to distract them and also draw with them and let them speak about their experiences.”

Now, four months after the earthquake, things have calmed and are returning to normal in Santiago. The team is finally able to continue the work in the children’s homes. In the boy’s home, Sion, they’ve set up a garden project, working together with teenagers. Some of the boys also really enjoy the art classes. In the other home, El Arca, the team started working again with groups of boys and girls, giving them special attention. However, due to changed time schedules, it’s been difficult to continue with the programmes.

Please pray for the OM Chile team members as they resume their work in the children’s homes. Pray that they will be able to continue showing these kids the love of Jesus.
