Persistence paid off
Austria | OM International
At OM EAST in Austria we are primarily a support field. We don’t win thousands for Christ. We mainly produce the literature and media that helps to reach and disciple those thousands. Most on our team have served for decades. So why would we consider a one-month intern?
OM USA was very persistent in February 2011, when we were too busy to reply. No less than three times they offered us this experienced bookkeeper for a one-month internship. We were advertising for a long-term replacement for our geriatric bookkeeper. It made no sense at all.
When I was shown the emails and read her resume, I became excited and jumped straight into print. Two days later Stephanie replied, excited about coming. Her one-month OM internship became almost three. She taught herself German from week two, and has studied it ever since.
Stephanie taught our geriatric bookkeeper even more than he taught her. She bonded with our team in an amazing way. She is preparing to return this year for a career in OM administration.
From a house church, and from a non-Christian background, she has no significant Christian support base. We are praying for supporters and funding for Stephanie. We are thanking God for meeting our need. Thank you OMUSA for your persistence. Your persistence paid off.
