Liz Tully-Rothwell

Ireland | OM International

Liz Tully-Rothwell joined OM full time in 1988 and returned to Ireland in 1997 to care for her elderly mother.  She writes:

I worked in Israel mainly with Palestinians and studied Arabic in Jordan. Our team of five women from different countries used various methods to spread the good news: door to door, book selling, distributing tracts, cassettes, videos and cards for bible correspondence. We taught English and had a ladies exercise class. After each class we gave a talk or shared our testimonies. We also had video evenings and kids clubs in our home helped by CEF.

We visited the Druze villages on the Lebanese border on several occasions. These people believe in reincarnation as well as other strange doctrines.  Once we visited a home where the family had been watching Middle East TV, a Christian TV programme. The mother requested I bring seven new testaments one for every member of the family.

One day I visited a home where there were several single ladies and shared with them and one seemed very interested. Later she invited me to visit her relatives and friends. She took me all over the village and I had wonderful opportunities to share. Wherever I went I always left literature.

OM has been a huge part of my life and always will be. I keep in touch with many I worked with and pray for them. I thank the Lord for the wonderful opportunities he gave me.
