Generous schoolchildren show love

Over 3,200 shoeboxes filled with gifts have been donated by generous Irish schoolchildren to bring joy to hundreds of the poorest children in Eastern Europe.  OM Ireland workers partnered with charity Samaritan's Purse to co-ordinate the Shoebox Appeal in Inishowen, County Donegal this year.

The response was encouraging with 26 schools and many community groups and individuals taking part in the project.  Fifteen local volunteers helped the OM Ireland workers to check and pack all of the boxes ready for collection this week.   The local mayor generously dontated the use of a shop in the main street as a warehouse for checking and storing the boxes.

Pray that the gifts will arrive safely at their destination and be a practical demonstratiuon of God's love to those who receive them.  Pray that as a result of this project, Irish children will understand more about the joy of giving this Christmas.
