Freedom Climb

square freedom climb logoWomen from across the globe will begin climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania on January 11, 2012. They are climbing to raise awareness, prayers, and finances for women and children who are oppressed, enslaved, exploited and trafficked. The summit of the highest mountain in Africa is Uhuru Peak and uhuru is the Swahili word for freedom.  Climbing Kilimanjaro is symbolic of the climb to freedom faced daily by millions of enslaved women and children worldwide.

Each climber has the goal of raising $10,000 toward OM justice projects, including micro-loans, education, skills training, and protection from exploitation for at-risk women and kids. You can partner with these women by giving through the link below. Or learn more at The Freedom Climb website.
