House parents for a Home for Women

Live in ‘house parents’ for a home for women who have survived exploitation and have completed ‘phase 1’ of a recovery programme.  By the time they have reached ‘phase 2’, they are a lot more stable and able to be independent, but still benefit from a steady presence in the house.  This is a role of quiet mentoring, ideal for a mature married couple. The project is supported by OM, and run by one of our partners.

This role is for a married couple, who can commit to an absolute minimum of two years.
Fluent English is required, ability to speak Greek, Arabic and other languages is a bonus.
Experience in working cross culturally is helpful, experience working with traumatised people is VERY helpful.
This is a role for people with stable and steady character, not easily manipulated or stressed. The organisation we support suggested that a couple who have raised kids might do well in this position!
There are other jobs that can be done through the day, but the responsibilities of the role would be to live in the house, and be at home and available from 4pm until mid morning every day, sharing life with the residents, being their port of call in disasters, and quietly supporting them.

Start Date

January 2020

Commitment Length

2-3 Years

All jobs/opportunities on this site are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.
