Materialism, secularism and religious indifference are great challenges for Norwegian churches. 85-87 % of the population are nominal members of the church and attend church only for special occasions. The church in Rørvik, Norway, wants to do something about this by reaching out to, and building relationships with young people (ages 16-25) in their community.The church wants to build a community for young people that provides a welcoming environment where the Next Generation can be encouraged and discipled in their faith.

As a team member, you will work alongside the local church, reaching out to youth in the community. The church wants to focus on social fairness and righteousness in an intercultural perspective, using creativity in activities like games, crafts, music, drama or other creative methods of social engagement with young people.
Be open minded, outgoing, creative and speak English. Musical skills are also welcomed, some social work experience or experience with other cultures is helpful.
Participants will stay in church member’s homes.
Meals will be provided in the church or in church member’s homes. Please notify us of any food allergies or intolerances in advance.
Fly into Rørvik Airport, Ryum, Norway (RVK) as early as possible on 15 October. Depart from RVK on 21 October no earlier than 09:00 (9:00 a.m.), if possible. There is likely no direct flight to Rørvik and you may need to book your flight through Trondheim (TRD) to Namsos (OSY) to Rørvik (RVK).

Good physical condition is needed since you will be physically active during your time in Norway. We need to know if you have any allergies (food, animals, environmental, etc.)
