Mission Extreme - PANAMA: Panama

Visiting and witnessing among Indigenous People and local Panamanians in at least two different regions of Panama

The programme consists of practical missions training and outreach to the various people groups in Panama. After the training you will be travelling to different regions doing friendship evangelism, open air evangelism and working alongside local churches

Ministry Details

1-Being involved in personal evangelism, in a creative way.
2- To have a growing spiritual encounter with God through the use of spiritual literature, provided by OM Panama.
3- Learning how to give short sermons and how to share you personal testimony in an evangelistic manner.
4- Training will be provided on:
Organizing church services;
preaching(homiletics);
dramas;
testimonies;
worship;
effective door to door evangelism.
5- Ministry opportunities will be varied, such as street outreach, church ministry, and cross cultural experiences.
6- After arriving at Panama International Airport (PTY), participants will travel by bus to the OM center in Volcan, Provincia de Chiriquí (a 7 hour journey).

Participant Profile

A POSITIVE ATTITUDE Team members need to be flexible!! The team language will be English and Spanish (It is helpful if you know Spanish already but come willing to learn). Translators will be available during the outreach. Partipants are welcome from Europe, Asia, North America and Latin America (All partipants should have an intermediate knowledge of English). Musicians, Medical teams and Sport teams are especially welcomed - but let us know in advance to organize a special programme for you.) The training programme will be given in English and Spanish.

Accommodation:

During the training at the OM Base you will be sleeping in bunk beds.
When the outreach starts mostly on church floors (so bring an airbed if possible).
Partipants will responsible for washing their clothes by hand. During the outreach you might want a mosquito net, so bring your own.

Food:

Be prepared for a wonderful diet of rice and beans with some meat where available root vegetables and fried food. No provisions for vegetarians so be prepared for your tastebuds to be challenged!!!!

Travel:

Flights to Panama City Airport (PTY- Tocumen International) Options available to fly to David City from PTY instead of taking the bus but you are responsible for the cost. How to find us: You will be picked up at the airport by an OM representative with an OM Panama sign (please make sure you have the emergency telephone numbers and addresses with you).
