Helping village churches to establish Sunday schools after the summer programmes. Sharing the joy of Christmas with people in houses for children with special needs. Bringing hope to Ukrainian children in orphanages.

We will encourage some village churches in their effort to establish a regular Sunday school after last evangelistic summer camps.
We will visit houses for children with special needs and possibly some other institutions.
We will visit some orphanages in the Vinnitsa region, bringing gifts for the children and doing Christian programs for them, using stories, songs, drama, games, sports, puppets and other tools.

Ministry Details

You will join our team in Vinnitsa in their ministry. You will participate in Sunday school ministry at villages using various skills, such as stories, songs, drama, games, sports, puppets, etc. Last summer our team led evangelistic camps in those villages. Now the local church is trying to establish a regular Sunday school for them. Our team is helping with training and coaching their leaders. You will also participate in houses for children with a special need with the same tools and at some orphanages.
Be flexible, as the program can sometimes change on short notice.

Participant Profile

Any person with a heart for God may participate, including children and teenagers. Having experience in various kind of ministry to children and teenagers would be a great asset but is not a necessary requirement.

Catering by the OM Vinnitsa team or a special cook

Travel:

You have to fly into and out of Kiev. From there you will be picked up by train or minivan. How to find us: You will fly into Kiev (Borispil) airport on 3 January, where we will meet you. From there you will travel 5 to 6 hours to Vinnitsa.

Health:

You should be in good health and ready for occasionals cold temperature down to -20 degrees Celsius.

Visa:

People from the EU, Switzerland, USA, Canada, South Korea and Japan do not need a visa for visiting Ukraine up to 90 days.
People from other nationalities must apply for a religious visa. The visa must be obtained BEFORE leaving your home country. You will need a single entry (1 month) visa for Ukraine. Ask at the consulate in your home country what is needed to obtain the visa. If you need an invitation letter, we can get this to you, but please allow 6 weeks for this to be obtained and sent to you. We need full passport info and picture, home address and church address info to get the invitation letter for you.
You will then need to hand the invitation letter, the application and any other required papers to the consulate to receive the visa. Visa costs are not included in the programme and must be paid separately.

OM Ukraine organised summer camps in 7 villages last July, and were encouraged by the positive response they received when they visited the churches a few months later. Four Sunday Schools have since been started in four of the villages, and one of the pastors has opened his house to the youth every Tuesday evening.
