Transform  2011 Turkey - God's Groundbreakers: Turkey

Transform 2011 (www.transform.om.org) is a unified effort around the Mediterranean to create momentum for the gospel. The purpose of this outreach is to see Eastern Turkey impacted with the gospel. Contacts will be linked into an extensive followup system.

Participants will focus on one of the most unevangelised areas of the world - the east of Turkey - in order to reach individuals and families through street evangelism and the creative arts. People gifted in any of the performing arts are welcome. We will also distribute a unique and powerful video, called More Than Dreams. Contacts will be linked into an extensive followup system.

Ministry Details

This is a high risk team with a huge potential of impact and fruit. The first two days of the outreach will include training in evangelism and Kurdish language. More Than Dreams is a DVD of five mini movies of Muslims who have come to Christ through a dream or vision. They have had significant impact. We have a website that offers them but its hard to get these distributed in the east.

Participant Profile

The ideal participant is a motivated, self-starter who is comfortable in a situation where s/he does not know the language. Mature in faith and able to stand firm under interrogation. The DVDs are legally produced and their distribution is legal, though unpopular with the authorities. People are hungry to hear the good news in this remote part of the country.
This option is available for people from 18 to 75.

Accommodation:

Most accommodation will be in simple pensions and hotels, occasionally with families.

Food:

Food will be eaten from restaurants and grocery stores.

Travel:

North Americans travelling to this option via the Rome orientation conference should book their travel to Turkey with a STOPOVER in Rome. Please write to the field for additional travel information. Health:

Good health and stamina are required for this outreach. Average temperatures at this time of year are 38 degrees C.

Visa:

Visas are required for Turkey but the majority of nationalities can purchase these at the airport upon entry.
