We want to equip, train and challenge you to reflect Jesus Christ and to use your God given gifts to bring Hope to the World. As a result, we hope to see the community around the church impacted. We also hope that you will go away strengthened in your faith and with a deeper desire to share your faith with your friends back at home.

As part of our Olympics focus this summer you will be working with an international team alongside Foleshill Baptist Chruch, Coventry helping the members of this church to reach out to this neighbourhood through various community projects. We will give you orientation and training to help you share your faith.

Ministry Details

You will be connecting with young people through different activities, including sport and sport coaching in the local park. In addition, we plan to run an evening youth café featuring the Olympics.
In this challenging area with people from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds we want to engage with people in the park and on the street through outreach and by offering prayer.
Our aim is to raise the profile of Jesus during the outreach week. Can you come and help?

Participant Profile

You need to have conversational English and be a committed Christian. No previous evangelism experience is required, as training will be given.

Accommodation:

You will sleep in the church hall. You should come prepared to sleep on the floor. Bring your own sleeping bag and mat.

Food:

Food will be provided at the church. We need to know in advance of any special dietary needs (vegetarian, food allergies, and so on)

Travel:

We will pick you up from Coventry bus station or train station. These stations are easy to reach from Birmingham Airport (BHX). They are a bit further to reach from other airports but also possible (Manchester, Liverpool, East Midlands or any of the London airports)

Health:

You should be in average good health and able to walk a reasonable distance without difficulty. You are responsible to obtain appropriate emergency health and medical insurance.

Visa:

Nationals from the EU and EEA do not require a visa for the UK. For all other nationalities you will either require an invitation letter in order to apply for a visa before leaving your country or just an invitation letter to present at the airport on arrival in the UK. In both cases you will enter the UK as a Visitor.
