No Longer Sad
OM team member Amir heard that an Iranian family had moved into the home for asylum seekers nearby. So he visited them. He was introduced to a tall man, his quiet wife, and their beautiful four-year-old son. The couple was very polite and made a noble impression but Amir wondered about the state of their hearts. He invited them to attend an OM outreach and an Iranian church. The family had neither met Christians nor read the Bible before, but they accepted the invitation. It was during their fourth or fifth visit to the church that the woman decided to embrace Jesus. "What I was looking for, I have found," she said. Until that moment, she had suffered from homesickness and depression, but she no longer feels sad.
Amir continues to visit the home for asylum seekers, studying the Bible with this couple. Though the man does not yet follow Jesus, he is happy to look up references during Bible study. The couple has now been recognized by German law as refugees. The OM team is helping them find an apartment and learn German. Please pray that this new believer would continue to follow Jesus as she meets other Iranians, and that the family’s integration into German culture would go smoothly. Pray for the OM team as they reach out to refugees, and that many others would turn to Christ, finding hope and healing.
