Bibles & Bumper Stickers
Two young men from the West are constantly searching for opportunities to share Christ with their Muslim neighbors. Their car displays an Arabic sticker which reads: “Free New Testament”. Recently, while the car was in the repair shop, a local lady approached one of them, a local believer who is a mechanic, and asked for several New Testaments for herself and her friends. He only had two Bibles, so he gave her one and told her to come back. A few days later, another lady approached him. She had also seen the car in the shop and wanted a New Testament.
An OM team joined these two men at a literature distribution table near the seaside. Here, thousands of tourists come from all over the Arab World during the hot summer months. Receiving a Bible in their own country would be difficult, and potentially dangerous, but here they have the opportunity to take one freely. In just two months, 10,000 copies of the Gospel of John were given out.
Because tourists come from all over the world, literature in numerous languages is needed. According to one team member, even many local Christians don’t own a Bible. Bibles in their mother tongues are difficult to find and are very expensive. The field also needs workers to distribute literature and do follow-up. Please pray that the needed literature will be provided and that God will raise up workers. Praise God that the people are thirsty for His Word.
