Service
They started volunteering with OM USA as a fluke, or so it seemed. Prepping for a relief trip to flooded areas in Georgia, the Mission USA team at The Chapel in Ohio learned they would need to change their plans. So they found housing and volunteer opportunities at the OM USA campus in Tyrone, Georgia to complement an otherwise shortened trip. It wasn't a fluke; it was God-inspired. While at OM, the Mission USA team repaired a missionary housing facility and found other work that needed to be done on future trips.
Since that first visit in 2009, The Chapel's tireless servants have become familiar faces around the office. They arrive with their own tools, vehicles, and supplies, ready to tackle large projects as a group. They have painted, drywalled, cooked, and cleaned in all kinds of weather with the same cheerful spirit each time. Volunteer Resource Manager Cindy Battles calls Mission USA "one of the most awesome group of volunteers we have ever had." This is due to the entire team's heart for service to the Lord's work. Besides serving other ministries, you will find them in disaster areas, restoring order and making others smile. Learn more about the Mission USA team on their website.
You can volunteer with OM in the U.S. with your church group, or by yourself. Some positions may even be done remotely, though these may require an initial visit to Atlanta. Pray through these available opportunities.
