Isolated Believers
An OM team took a drive with a local brother in the Lord. “As we drove into the village,” he writes, “a man was standing in the middle of the road. It was the man we'd just telephoned! He got in the car and directed us to his cottage. This local brother and I sat in the spotless lounge and listened as this middle-aged man told his story. His wife silently served the local drink followed by the inevitable black tea. He's regularly watching Kanal Hayat, a Christian satellite TV channel. As he answered questions, it was clear that he'd understood the essentials of the Gospel. Then he volunteered news which caused our hearts to rejoice all the way from that remote village along the broken roads and motorways back to the local brother's home near the Mediterranean coast: ‘and I’ve put my trust in Christ Jesus,’’ he said solemnly. We read scriptures with him, prayed together, and wondered, How many more brothers and sisters do we have in Anatolian villages waiting for someone to visit them and confirm their faith?’
