Most people in the smaller villages of Moldova are either under the age of 16, left behind by their parents, or over the age of 50, left by grown children, as more leave the country to find work and send money back to their families.  For those still in the country, survival is a daily concern. OM Moldova is reaching out to these, both young and old. For the younger team members, visits to the elderly have been the most challenging. They want to tell their older friends about Jesus, but they know that having a listening ear is also important. The young workers wonder if they could offer any wisdom to someone older, and if they could, would it be received?

This fall, 61-year-old Paulina joined the young team. She left her house and two cats to work with OM and is loving her time with the older residents nearby. “I visited an elderly lady who had a lot of pain in her legs,” shared Paulina. “I tried to give her a massage but I didn’t really know how to do it. Fortunately, God let me meet a woman who taught me how to give massages and now I visit another elderly woman every evening to give her a massage. I really enjoy doing it although I never expected God to give me a new job at my age! The people I visit tell me that their pain leaves when they receive a massage from me. The most beautiful thing is that while my hands are massaging, my mouth is sharing the good news of God's love!”
