Blessed Are the Poor

"My mother's pension is the only source of income for my whole family," writes a woman in Algeria. "There are seven of us at home and we live very frugally. We try to keep optimistic, especially at church where we hear messages of hope and are reminded that we are only sojourners on this earth. My favorite verse comes from the Beatitudes and says, 'Blessed are the poor, for heaven belongs to them.' I know that the verse is talking about a different type of poverty but I decided to make this my personal verse." The young woman received a sewing machine as part of an OM outreach, to help support her family. She continues, "On the day that our church leader called me to come and accept this gift, I knew that God didn't just want me to be happy in heaven but also to be happy here on earth. And the gift of the sewing machine didn't just make me happy but also my whole family, especially my sisters who take turns to work on it."
Please continue to pray for this ministry in Algeria, that many more families would be blessed by the addition of a sewing machine.
