Businesswomen in Turkey
A lady in Turkey writes: "I work with OM in Turkey where I also am in business with my own shop. This year's economic crisis caused a fellow businesswoman to go bankrupt. She had to sell everything to pay her debts. Knowing how difficult it is for women in this country, especially in business, I said I would help her in any way I could. I offered to store her equipment until she could find buyers. We discussed this on a rainy day, sitting in her car where she cried and told me I was the only person willing to help her. I explained that her problems were too big for her and me to handle and that she needed the Lord."
"Our time together on that rainy day was the first of several conversations in which the Holy Spirit used me to share the hope of Jesus with this woman. Finally, in a corner of my shop, she accepted Christ with tears and confession. Afterward, we read Romans 8: 8-15 and she drank in the words. I have never seen such strong evidence of the spiritual veil being lifted as I did at that moment. Her face seemed to shine with complete understanding.
"A week later, she came to the shop noticeably different. She had shared her new faith with her mother and daughter and said she prays every day and knows that God is with her. She asked me to disciple her, so we agreed to meet one morning every week to study together.
"The very next day, a story about my shop was featured in a national newspaper. This good publicity brought record sales. Some would call this a coincidence. I believe this was God's blessing for being faithful to His calling."
Pray for these women to continue growing in their faith. Pray the Lord will bring allow them to meet others who need hope during tough economic times.
