The Next Generation

teacher pushing boy on a swing"Through the teachings, I now know that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," says a student at OM Zambia's Teacher Training Course. "I have come to understand that it's not only about teaching the children, but about introducing them to Christ as their personal Savior. It is better to teach them to fear the Lord, and to trust and obey His commandments. God values them, and they will pass this on to the next generation."

In unreached areas of rural Zambia, there is often no formal education. So OM Zambia began training nationals to take God-centered teaching to remote people groups. Charles, a recent graduate, returned to his village to start a preschool out of his home. His preparation has allowed the kids to enter government schools after completion. A few kids were even allowed to skip a grade. When school officials interviewed one of the preschoolers, the child was able to answer questions that had stumped local fifth graders! So now, village leaders have asked Charles to continue tutoring kids even after they have entered public school. They respect the impact he has been able to have on these young lives.

Two other teachers started a kids' ministry in a different village. Even Muslim parents have begun sending their children there because they see a change in their children. They know the teaching is Christian, yet they choose it over public schools.

Some teachers from the Training Course serve in government schools, an answer to prayer for the OM Zambia team who wants to see incarnational ministries in every walk of life. The training gives teachers the Biblical basis; they bring the Bible to life in the places they live and teach.

Please pray for the Teacher Training Course, and for God to continue providing what the school needs. Pray for the families these teachers will be reaching. Pray many more will be touched by the love of Jesus.
