Music Missionaries
In a predominantly Muslim nation, not far from an area known as a hotbed of terrorists, three music missionaries help new believers record their first Christian worship songs.
As a ministry of OM Arts, Heart Sounds International (HSI) helps to develop culturally relevant worship in places where Christ's followers are persecuted and restricted. HSI helps them create worship music that fits their cultures and linguistic styles--music that connects with their hearts. Volunteer professionals have helped to produce this worship music in more than 33 countries including Kosovo, Mongolia, Algeria, Tajikistan and countries in the Middle East.
HSI is sometimes able to provide local believers with the tools they need to continue producing indigenous recordings on their own. The recorded music may then be distributed through the network of Christians in the country, and is sometimes used by them to reach others with the Gospel. Research shows that, in countries closed to the Gospel, fledgling churches grow more rapidly when they have worship music which fits into the local culture and musical style.
