In 1970, OM launched an innovative, international ship ministry. Since then, the ships, Logos, Logos II and Doulos, have welcomed 38 million people in more then 497 cities in 155 nations. The opportunities that presented themselves over the last 38 years have far exceeded the initial vision and have influenced millions of lives all around the globe. For example, since 1970: 50 million scripture portions have been distributed; 4.8 million people have attended conferences and other events onboard; 10 million children have visited the ships; 10,000 young people trained onboard for future life and service; the ships have worked in partnership with 50,000 churches worldwide; 30,000 local participants enrolled in our port volunteers program; hundreds of tons of books donated; tens of thousands have come to faith in Christ.

To facilitate these opportunities for the future, the decision was made to replace Logos II with a larger vessel. In April 2004, a vessel with far more capacity than Logos II was purchased and renamed Logos Hope. The Logos Hope’s final refitting and outfitting is nearing completion, and this new ship will be launched into active ministry in the coming months.
