Sports Ministry

Sports fields of all kinds are at the centre of every community around the world, filled with people competing and sharing life together. We believe every sports field can become a harvest field for discipleship and generate hope for families and communities through the transforming love of Jesus Christ. We want to see athletes and coaches, local churches and communities make the most of sports through sharing Christ in relational and relevant ways, such as hosting community sports activities, engaging in sports leagues, training coaches and athletes in applying biblical principles to sports, and much more.
If you have a passion for sports and a passion to bring the gospel to those who have never heard before, come find your fit with OM.

Be involved in the lives of Muslim background refugees and/or Greek young people: mentoring and discipling them - by launching sports based ministries that will make it possible to build relationships. Projects currently ongoing are a football team and a hiking discipleship group.

Requirements:  This role is for an active person with a heart for both Greeks and people from the 10-40 window, who is a team player and a discipler.  It is also a pioneering role, you will need to be someone who is good at planning and motivating people to share the vision, as well as someone who can take initiative and work independently.
Anyone in this role will be required to study Greek, and knowledge of Arabic, Farsi or Kurdish is helpful if they primarily work with refugees (though it is not required.) This is primarily a role for single men or couples.
The initial months of every OMer’s time in Greece is used for cultural adaptation and language training.  Presently, until there is a separate OM Greece Home office, we expect every OMer to serve in a part-time role in the office also.

All jobs/opportunities on this site are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.
