Homeless Ministry Leader

Of the over 12,000 homeless persons in Chile, more than half of them live on the streets of Santiago. If you have a calling to serve among the poor and marginalized, have strong leadership and training abilities, we would love to have you on our team! We are seeking someone who can lead our homeless ministry with specific emphasis on training, mobilizing and equipping students, volunteers and the local church to serve among the marginalized unreached people groups in the 10/40 window.

Requirements

We are looking for a mature Christian who has a heart for the homeless, who desires to see their lives change through the good news of the gospel. Someone who will embrace OM’s vision of seeing a vibrant community of Jesus followers among the least reached, through the training and mobilization of the local church to go and serve in the 10/40 window where there are so many homeless people. A leader who will continue to invest in the development of the ministry and its volunteers.

We are seeking someone who can lead our homeless ministry with specific emphasis on training our volunteers and Intensive Mission Training (IMT) students who are called to mobilize, equip and train the local church about the needs of marginalized people in the 10/40 window giving them the opportunity to practically serve in the local ministry and among the least reached people groups. We are desirous of someone who can come alongside other believers in visiting the homeless on the streets of Santiago and in a local day center distributing food, sharing the gospel, disciplining and praying with them. You will also coordinate our monthly Meal of Love which serves a three-course meal to between 150 -200 homeless people in an outdoor marketplace each month.

We desire a ministry leader with the following qualities:

- Good level of Spanish and English
- Flexibility 
- Adaptable to a new culture
- Willing to learn and grow
- Self-motivated
- Good listener
- Compassionate
- Training/experience in working with the homeless and/or gifting in mercy, encouragement, evangelism, teaching, service, or helps would be a plus.

All jobs/opportunities on this site are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.
