To advance the mission of Operation Mobilization, this position will plan social and fundraising events organized for OM USA. The Events Manager is responsible for running a range of events at OM USA, ensuring the target audience is engaged and the message of the event is marketed properly. The ideal candidate will understand logistics, plan and implement a strategize the whole process from the planning stage, right through to running the event and carrying out the post-event evaluation.

  • Collaborates in all phases of the strategic and tactical planning, development, creation, and management of signature and campaign-related events, functions, and meetings for internal and external constituent groups.
  • Oversees creation and management of project timelines, deadlines, budgets, procedures, plans, and concepts covering all aspects of event production.
  • Ability to work successfully at multiple levels as the department grows: performing hands-on tasks, coordinating mid-level details, and hiring/leading a small team.
  • Determines strategy for long-range planning and sets goals for ongoing measurement and reporting of event success metrics.
  • Determines strategy for improvements to event project management systems, procedures, technology, and services, and manages implementation.
  • Travel to a range of events to provide direct support and ensure that practices and standards are being well communicated, well understood, and well met.
  • Work closely with the host group and Marketing teams to establish the look and feel for each event, and the corresponding set of core and supplemental event assets, signage, and audio-visual elements that will bring each event to life.
  • Set event layout standards, guidelines, and specifications, including best practices for pedestrian traffic flow and placement of event elements in relation to each other.
  • The range of events may include large-scale gala or formal events, dinners, receptions, luncheons, board meetings, conferences, boutique fundraising events, community awareness events, corporate celebrations, welcome or farewell events for staff, reunions, and alumni events and cultivation and stewardship events with programmatic elements.
  • In this high-profile role, the Director will be a member of the Management Team and will work directly with other managers and senior leaders at the VP, SVP, and C-level.


  • At least 5 years of experience in all phases of leading, planning, and executing high-quality, high-touch corporate events with measurable goals and outcomes, preferably in a non-profit fundraising environment.
  • Expertise in professional event management protocol, standards, and practices, and a proven ability to use this knowledge to work closely with clients, vendors and team members to design, produce, and execute successful events.
