Living out her faith for many years as a professional teacher in the AP, Lisa has learned to intentionally look for opportunities to share about God’s love in her everyday life. One mid-summer evening, Lisa was sitting in the waiting room to see her doctor. The only other person there appeared to be a local woman fully covered in a black Abaya.

Lisa, who was messaging a friend about the day, decided to remove the barrier of her phone. She put it down and began praying for an opportunity to chat to this woman. At that time, the woman started to rummage through her bag, and in the process, a passport fell out. As her own passport was in for visa renewal, Lisa asked her what nationality she was. The woman, Amera, proudly introduced herself as a national citizen and immediately asked Lisa whether she was Catholic or Protestant. Intrigued by the question, Lisa asked Amera what she thought the difference was. Amera explained she had been watching Christian programs on satellite TV for some time.

Before Lisa was called away by the doctor, she proceeded to investigate further and asked Amera if she knew of others who watched the programs as well. Looking around to make sure no one was listening, Amera answered: “A lot of us are watching these programs, but we don’t talk about it.” As Lisa left the doctor’s waiting room, God reminded her that there are many men and women around the AP who are seeking the truth.
